The attack – involving a dog believed to be of the Boeboel breed called Hunter – happened in Royal Crescent on 15 April.
Lucas Rodrigues (19) appeared in the Magistrate’s Court this week on behalf of his family, who own the dog.
He admitted that the animal hadn’t been kept under proper control.
The case was adjourned until 29 August when Mr Rodrigues will next appear in court.
