Both passengers of the car were taken to hospital after a team of six firefighters was sent to rescue them.

The Jersey Fire and Rescue Service have warned Islanders to take more care on the roads in the slippery conditions after rain overnight.

They responded to the call at around 9.10 pm last night, sending two vehicles and a team to help the two people trapped in the vehicle, hanging over a cliff.

A statement from the Fire and Rescue Service said: “The vehicle was still moving slightly and 2 casualties were still inside. Red watch personnel very quickly got to work to secure the vehicle to ensure no further movement.

“Once secure ambulance personnel assessed the casualties injuries and a plan was put into place to extricate both of them safely.

“Both casualties were then transported to hospital via ambulance. The vehicle was then winched back onto the road and made safe.”
