Charles David Barnett (73) yesterday appeared in the Magistrate’s Court to face a single charge of perverting the course of justice in relation to a previous conviction of possessing 200 indecent images and videos of children under 16.
Responding to the new charge of perverting the course of justice in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Mr Barnett was represented by Advocate Chris Hillier.

Magistrate Bridget Shaw, presiding, ruled that the matter was “not suitable for trial in this court”.
She decided to commit the case to the Royal Court later this year when Mr Barnett will stand trial for the alleged offence.
