On Saturday afternoon, a silver Peugeot 207 hit a bollard and went up into with two wheels off the floor.

The Fire Service was subsequently called and a towing company, which took the car away. No one was injured.

On Sunday, a black Porsche hit a barrier halfway up Beaumont Hill, forcing the closure of the road for around two hours.

A Police spokesperson said of the Sunday crash: “The driver declined medical treatment and the road was closed whilst accident investigators tried to establish what had happened and it was open again about two hours later.”
