One of the GFC fans was reported to have shouted racist abuse at a coach from Sutton Common Rovers, during a match at Footes Lane on Saturday (9 October).

“Guernsey Football Club condemns all forms of discrimination,” said a spokesperson via Twitter on the day.

“We were made aware of an incident at today’s game which was quickly dealt with and the person was removed from the ground.”

Contacted by Express, the spokesperson added that GFC is now working with Guernsey Police and they’ll “review the matter when they have concluded their enquiries.”

“Guernsey Police are aware of this incident and have been working with the GFC since it was reported. An investigation is currently ongoing,” confirmed a spokesperson for the police.

Express has contacted Sutton Common Rovers for comment but is yet to receive a reply.
