A record number of youngsters are expected to swim, cycle and run next week as part of an annual triathlon fundraiser.
There is just one week to go until the Vistra Jersey Kids’ Triathlon, which is being held on Saturday 7 June in aid of the Jersey branch of Blood Cancer UK.
So far, 700 young triathletes have raised over £8,500 for the charity – which provides research, awareness and support for the 38,000 people diagnosed with blood cancer each year.

Triathletes aged six to 13 will take part in the twelfth edition of the non-competitive event, where all participants are guaranteed a medal and goody bag.
Thanks to a new accessible entry category, the triathlon will include those with additional support needs for this first time this year.
Cirsty de Gruchy Moseley, founder and CEO of Connecting Communities, said the new category “proves how powerful inclusion in sport can be” as more children like her son Harry are now able to take part.
“Harry has taken part for six years now, and every time he crosses that finish line, cheered on with a huge smile, it proves how powerful inclusion in sport can be,” she added.
“This new Accessible Entry category is a fantastic next step to give even more children the chance to thrive.”
The Board of Vistra Jersey, the triathlon’s long-term main sponsor, added: “ Not only is this
a great cause, but it is also a perfect opportunity for kids to engage in sports in a fun and non-competitive environment, cheered on by their friends and family.
“We look forward to another successful event whilst raising awareness and funds for Blood Cancer UK – Jersey Branch to support their invaluable research and support with blood cancer.”
