Labradors, Cockapoos, and Cocker Spaniels were the most popular dog breeds in Jersey last year – with Bella, Luna, and Poppy topping the list for the most common pooch names.

The figures, published by the Constables’ Committee, revealed that there has been a 25% increase in the number of dogs in the island in the last five years.

In 2020, there were 8,456 dogs registered in Jersey – rising to 10,547 in 2025.

St Helier was the parish with the most four-legged residents, with 2,015 dogs.

In comparison, St Mary had just 265 pups registered in the parish last year.

Around 77% of dog owners only have one furry friend, 19% have two dogs, and 4% have three or more.

Last year, 52% of registered dogs were male and 48% female.
