Organisers of the Island Walk have revealed the 11 local causes that will benefit from funds raised by the annual 48-mile challenge this year.

The 2026 TMF Island Walk will take place on Saturday 20 June, with early-bird tickets set to go on sale from tomorrow.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of the event, which tasks participants with making their way on foot around the full perimeter of the island.

Jake Crichton has also been announced as the new chair of the event’s organising body, the Around the Island Walk Trust, succeeding departing chair Rob Syvret.

Last year’s walk raised more than £140,000, increasing the event’s all-time fundraising total to over £3m since it began.

Eleven local causes have been named as prospective beneficiaries of this year’s challenge:

Wetwheels Jersey
Provides fully accessible boating experiences, enabling islanders with disabilities to enjoy the sea safely and confidently. Funding ensures these life-enhancing trips remain free of financial barriers and accessible to all.

Dementia Jersey
This project supports up to 145 local carers of people living with dementia, improving their wellbeing, resilience, and access to practical help. By caring for carers, the programme strengthens families and the wider community.

The Grace Crocker Family Support Foundation
Grace Crocker supports Jersey families who must travel off island for their child’s medical treatment. The charity eases financial, emotional, and logistical pressures so families can focus on their child’s health.

Jersey Child Care Trust
Funding will help remove financial barriers preventing children in poverty from accessing nursery or childminder care. Early-years support is crucial in breaking cycles of disadvantage and improving long-term outcomes.

Acorn Enterprises
Acorn’s new Plastics Workshop will provide training and employment pathways for islanders with disabilities or long-term health conditions. The project combines sustainability with skills development, confidence, and independence.

Jersey Cheshire Home
This organisation delivers specialist residential care and therapies for adults with complex disabilities, without regular government funding. Support helps ensure residents can access essential treatments that improve mobility, wellbeing, and quality of life.

Brightly
Brightly supports children and young people from birth to 25 who face adversity or are care-experienced. Often described as the “Bank of Mum and Dad”, the charity provides practical help that promotes independence and stability.

Jersey Heart Support Group
This island-wide initiative will replace defibrillators in all 30 primary schools, ensuring lifesaving equipment remains operational. The charity also delivers free CPR and automated external defibrillation training, strengthening community safety.

Jersey Scouts
Funds will support new climbing equipment and maintenance for the Scout climbing wall, as well as subsidise ten young people attending the 2027 World Scout Jamboree. These opportunities build confidence, leadership, and global awareness.

Music in Action
Music in Action delivers inclusive music education in disadvantaged schools and through a bursary scheme for individual lessons. Music helps improve wellbeing, confidence, and engagement, unlocking potential in young people across Jersey.

Macmillan Jersey
Macmillan Jersey provides vital, locally funded support for people affected by cancer, complementing clinical care. Funding strengthens patient-centred services so no one in Jersey faces cancer alone.
