A 15-metre sailing vessel was towed back to St Helier Harbour after experiencing fuel problems and being unable to make it safely into port.
The Jersey Lifeboat Association was called at 5.11pm on Sunday 6 September, with the crew of its inshore lifeboat Albert Pinel launching just 17 minutes later.
The yacht had managed to anchor near the Diamond Buoy while awaiting assistance.
After reaching the vessel, the volunteer crew established a tow and brought it safely back into St Helier Harbour, with the lifeboat returning to base by 6.30pm.
The JLA said conditions had been “fantastic, unless you were trying to sail”, adding that the vessel had been well equipped and its crew well practised for an emergency.
Following the callout, the charity reminded boat owners to check both their fuel levels and fuel quality before heading out.
“The conditions were fantastic, unless you were trying to sail, and Bertie made light work of the tow,” the JLA said.
