An islander has expressed thanks for the “unbelievable support” shown by those assisting with an ongoing search for her phone – which contains “irreplaceable photos, videos, and memories” of her late fiancé.
Ashyanna Ball’s fiancé Kieran Le Bail died two years ago after a crash during a motorbike sprint on the Five Mile Road organised by the Jersey Motorcycle and Light Car Club.

Ashyanna has since been honouring his memory by competing in motorsport races.
Earlier this month, she lost her phone while paddle boarding at high tide at Ouaisne beach.
“While the phone itself isn’t what I’m most worried about, the SD card inside it holds irreplaceable photos, videos, and memories of my late fiancé that I never backed up,” she told Express.
“The phone was dropped just offshore.
“I believe it’s still resting on the seabed, as the sea doesn’t go out far enough at low tide to expose the area.”
Ashyanna’s phone is estimated to be somewhere in the area of What3Words location tracking app address ‘bistro.doors.promotes’.
The kindness and effort shown by friends, family, and total strangers has been nothing short of amazing

“What’s kept me going is the unbelievable support I’ve received,” Ashyanna continued.
“That first night, my friends Michael Milner and Rob Rive, and my in-laws stayed with me at the beach until the early hours of 02:00 searching.
“Since then, Conor Carre has been diving, others have brought metal detectors, and so many more people have come out to lend a hand.”
She noted that this included support from metal detectorist Steve Andrews, of Jersey Lost Ring Metal Detecting, snorkelling on low tide and providing his expertise.

“I honestly wish I could name every single person who’s helped, the list is endless,” Ashyanna added.
“The kindness and effort shown by friends, family, and total strangers has been nothing short of amazing.
“I’ve been overwhelmed, in the very best way, by the lengths people have gone to help.
“It’s incredibly moving and something I’ll never forget.”
