Slovenian national Anze Langus pleaded guilty to a robbery charge in the country in 2012, and was sentenced in 2018, when he was given community service.
However, Langus left the country and returned to Guernsey, where he had been working in hospitality, before carrying out the punishment.
He moved islands to Jersey in July 2019 to work as a bartender and storeman for a hotel.
The two years that the Slovenian authorities gave Langus to complete his community service elapsed last year and the country formally asked Jersey to extradite him.
Arrested on Wednesday, Langus appeared in the Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, where he agreed to sign the extradition papers, which then have to be approved by the Attorney General.
If Jersey’s senior prosecutor agrees to the extradition, Langus will return to his home country, where he is likely to be sent to prison for failing to carry out the original sentence.
