Both have been members since 1981, and have contributed enormously to the work of the Ornithology Section.

Mick Dryden has been Chair since 1985, and Tony Paintin was the Ornithology Section recorder for 32 years, only recently stepping down.
The annual Jersey Bird Report, which has always been is printed without fail, has been a mainstay of the Société for years.
It provides an unbroken sequential view of the island’s bird population, migration patterns and breeding gains and losses.

Mick also has an exceptional collection of professional standard photographs which can be seen on the Jersey Birds website, as well as the Société’s own.
They have also tirelessly supported States’ work to ensure the care and maintenance of the natural environment.
