There will no longer be lifeguards patrolling some of Jersey’s beaches as the RNLI’s peak summer season draws to a close.

The RNLI said that patrols would stop at Plémont and Grève de Lecq beaches from Sunday.

However, daily patrols will be continuing at St Ouen’s Bay and St Brelade’s Bay between 10:00 and 18:00 until the end of this month.

At Le Braye, weekend cover will continue until 19 October, and full daily patrols will return for the half-term break from 25 October to 2 November.

Jake Elms, RNLI Lead Lifeguard Supervisor for Jersey, said the summer season had once again been demanding.

“For Jersey’s RNLI lifeguard teams, the summer is always anticipated to be very busy, and the 2025 peak season has been no exception,” he said.

“Our teams worked especially hard throughout the busy August bank holiday, and when the huge swell from Storm Erin created dangerous sea conditions.

“As we begin to see our beaches concluding patrols from this Sunday, I would like to thank our incredible lifesavers for the immense dedication and skill they have shown this year.

‘”In addition, I’d like to thank the States of Jersey for their support, which allows us to provide the service and help continue to keep people safe when they head to the coast.”
