St. Brelade’s Bay recently came third in Trip Advisor’s Top 10 of UK beaches but Visit Jersey wants to see it in the top position in 2020.

Trip Advisor announced the third place accolade in the Travellers’ Choice Beaches, based on the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and ratings for beaches on TripAdvisor gathered over a 12-month period, earlier this week.

St. Brelade’s Bay took the third place on the podium behind Dorset’s Bournemouth Beach and Scotland’s Luskentyre on the Isle of Harris.

“A firm visitor favourite,” the Bay has been listed within the TripAdvisor Top 10 since 2015 but Visit Jersey has just launched the ‘Vote my beach up’ campaign to generate even more positive reviews from visitors.

They teamed up with ‘The Jersey Sandman’ to draw a giant-sized TripAdvisor logo on St. Brelade’s Bay with the tagline ‘#votemybeachup,’ an image that will be shared on social media.

Visit Jersey hopes the campaign will see the Bay top the poll next year and gain its rightful title of best beach in the UK, as Louise Ashworth, Head of Marketing at Visit Jersey, explained. “St. Brelade’s Bay is one of the island’s most beautiful beaches with soft sands, palm trees and safe swimming for all. We’re delighted that the TripAdvisor community have awarded us third best-rated beach in the UK, but as we’re sure islanders will agree, we deserve to be number one!

“Let’s make 2020 the year we win the top position as the best-rated beach in the UK. We’re going to encourage visitors to share their reviews and we’d love to see the local community support our campaign, by encouraging visiting friends and relatives to ‘vote my beach up’ on our TripAdvisor page!”
