Next week’s strikes on Tuesday and Wednesday (7 and 8 May) come as members of the National Education Union (NEU) walk out in a call for a rise in teacher wages, which have fallen behind rises in the cost of living for many years.

According to the government, unlike last week’s round of strikes, no schools are due to close fully, but a number of year groups will have the day off.
