Sunshine hours for June fell significantly below the monthly average, with the Jersey Meteorological Department recording 180.3 hours for the 30 days last month.
The 30-year average for sunshine between 1981 and 2010 is 256.7 hours – so it has been a case of brollies, rather than basking on the beach.
Forecasters say that it was the dullest June since 1997, when just 158.4 sunshine hours were recorded at the Fort Regent Signal Station.
