Islanders are being urged to stay alert as scammers continue to target people with fake messages about missing parcels and non-existent refunds – even after the festive shopping rush has ended.

The Jersey Fraud Prevention Forum said islanders are receiving texts and emails designed to create urgency, pushing recipients to click links or share personal and financial details.

“The festive rush may be over, but scammers are still busy,” the group said in a post on social media.

The messages often appear to come from delivery companies or retailers and claim action is needed to release a parcel or process a refund.

The Jersey Fraud Prevention Forum is advising islanders to slow down and verify any claims directly through official retailer websites or apps, rather than using links provided in messages.

“If something feels off, take a moment to pause before you act,” the group added.
