Deputy Rob Ward assigned the roles to Deputy Carina Alves of St Helier Central and Constable of St Peter Richard Vibert in a Ministerial Decision published yesterday.

Deputy Alves will now have will delegated responsibilities for education language policy, inclusion policy and virtual schooling.

If the minister is unavailable or out of the Island, she will also be able to take up his responsibilities and powers.

Mr Vibert – who is Children’s Minister – will now also be able to take up these powers and responsibilities, if Deputy Alves and Deputy Ward are unavailable or out of the Island.

Deputy Ward took up the newly-formed role of Education and Lifelong Learning Minister after Chief Minister Lyndon Farnham decided to split the Children’s and Education Minister portfolio into two ministries – with Mr Vibert appointed to Children’s Minister.
