Islanders will have the opportunity to watch the premiere of a new British film about Tourette syndrome ahead of its official UK release.
‘I Swear’ will be screened at Cineworld Jersey on Sunday 5 October in a bid to bring together the island’s neurodiverse community and raise awareness of the challenges they face.
The film is based on the true story of John Davidson MBE, and his journey from a misunderstood teenager in a small Scottish town to an outspoken advocate for people living with Tourette syndrome.
The comedy-drama stars Robert Aramayo, Maxine Peake, Shirley Henderson, and Peter Mullan and is due to be released in cinemas on Thursday 10 October.
Tourette syndrome is a neurological disorder that may cause sudden unwanted and uncontrolled rapid and repeated movements or vocal sounds called tics.
Tickets for the event are available now from Cineworld, with early releases having been offered to charities that support neurodiverse islanders.
