Firearms officers and a police dog were sent to the area between the Fort D’Auvergne Hotel and Carlton Apartments around 23:00 on Friday (24 July).
Three men and one woman were arrested and remain in custody.
Officers said the “significant police response” followed reports from a 999 caller of a hammer and baseball bat being used in the alleged brawl.

Two weapons were recovered during the arrest.
Police are now investigating what happened further and are urging any witnesses or those with more information to call 612612 or make an anonymous report using the Crimestoppers website.
