The accident happened on the road running from Five Oaks to Hougue Bie last Thursday.

The police say that a red Skoda Felicia and a silver Ford Fiesta collided, but that the Fiesta driver left the scene before police arrived. They say that the driver was described as a Portuguese man in his 50s, and that the Ford will have been badly damaged at the back on the driver’s side.

Officers say that anyone with any information about the accident should contact 0800 555111 on the Crimestoppers number, or to call the police on 612612.

Their appeal for information said: “Officers are asking for the public’s help to identify the silver Ford Fiesta involved and its driver. The Fiesta will be badly damaged at the back on the driver’s side.
