If it does, then Jersey’s States employees have revealed themselves to be fans of the notoriously right-wing Daily Mail, with the newspaper’s website being the top news site clicked on States computers in the last three months – the longest period of time from which the data can be extracted.

The BBC was next, followed by the Telegraph.

The information has emerged in response to one of the more light-hearted requests under the Freedom of Information law, and also shows that Twitter is the social media site of choice for States workers, with Facebook surprisingly falling way down the list – perhaps because the stats will be biased towards office hours.

Trello, an online project management tool, came sixth in the States list.

But any website analysis wouldn’t be complete without Amazon, and the popular shopping site is clearly well used by States employees too, coming 13th on the top 20 list
