The event, now in its fourth year, is designed to help “Jersey residents of all backgrounds, ages, and levels of political awareness, [to] engage with our democracy”, according to Deputy Rob Ward.

Islanders can get involved by attending one or several of this week’s events.

Alongside talks and tours, primary school children can submit their designs to the ‘Design a States Chamber for the Future’ competition, with a day trip to Westminster on offer for the winners. Details are available from the States Assembly website.

Schools will also hold their own activities across the week, including dedicated ‘Democracy Days’.
