Janice Maudsley, who is from the UK, was arrested on Saturday after arriving on a flight from Liverpool.
She appeared in the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, charged with importation of a Class A controlled drug, namely six ounces of cocaine, with an estimated street value of between £16,800 and £25,000.
Assistant Magistrate Peter Harris, presiding, decided that the case was too serious to be heard in the Magistrate’s Court and committed it to the Royal Court.
Ms Maudsley will appear before the Royal Court on 30 May.
She has been remanded in custody in the meantime.
