Young actors, singers and musicians from Youth Arts Jersey will take to the stage at St. James Centre next week in a nostalgic romp through the decade’s greatest hits.

The team behind the musical, which includes a cast of 17, plus a live band and a sound and lighting crew, is aged between 11 to 20 years old.

They will be putting on three performances – on Wednesday 19, Thursday 20 and Friday 21, each starting at 19:30 – in the auditorium at St. James Centre.

Created by Neil Gooding, the musical tells the story of Corey Snr’s last year in High School. It includes hits from Back to the Future, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and The Karate Kid.

Spectators are urged to dig out their shoulder pads, power suits and bright coloured tops for the musical and the best 80s-themed outfit will even receive a prize.

Youth Arts Jersey also encourages the audience to take an active part in the performance. “This is such a fun show and we really want the audience to sing along with the cast, as this contains some of the most popular 80s songs ever written!”
