Hi,

My name is Jordan Bowring and I’d like to share my concerns about GST.

I am 20 years old, born and educated locally and grew up in a low income household. I am beyond lucky to be where I am through the generosity and support of everyone around me.

I had a different childhood to most but I am so grateful and inspired by Sammie Bowring who got us through everything we faced. No matter what the financial situation was for the month, I was always okay. Truely inspirational to stay that strong through the toughest times.

January 2026, Neil Heeraman and I decided to start up NJ Cleaning Ltd in order to help those that needed it and to give back to the community. I have put everything I have got into every hour of work I’ve done in order to change my future and get a better life and give back to the planet.

So what has this got to do with GST? Well, I worry about the people, the common person who will no longer afford food or basic neccesities. I worry I will no longer be able to help the community I love due to rising stock prices forcing me to higher my hourly rate, alongside added tax rates for my clients. I worry about my family, those with health issues and the ederly. I worry for the elderly women who can’t claim pensions from prior marriage.

This isn’t to say anything will ever change, our company will always find a way to stay affordable for our community. However I urge you to tell your own story! Our voice, the common person’s voice. It’s us that know what it’s like to live here, we know what it feels like to choose between food and heating, we know the worry of feeding your children over yourself and staying awake all night worrying if you can make your next rent payment.

Tell your story. Say NO to GST.

Jordan Bowring,
NJ Cleaning Ltd
