A family from Alderney has won a year of free inter-island travel as part of an Aurigny competition hosted by All Island Media.
Love is in the Air competition winner Stefan will now be able to visit his best friend, who recently moved to Guernsey, after securing 31% of the public vote.
His mum Klaudia shared the story of the childhood best friends separated by water.
“There’s something quietly heartbreaking about watching your child miss someone,” she said.
“Flights between our islands aren’t just journeys. They are reunions. They are hugs at arrivals. They are children running towards each other like no time has passed.”
Stefan said he was “really happy” to have won up to 12 return flights per year between his home in Alderney and his best friend’s home in Guernsey.
“Thank you!” he added.
