First held in 1967, the grueling race is a staple of the Guernsey and Jersey rowing clubs calendar.
Bad conditions meant a postponement on 20 July.
And with the weather looking ominous for tomorrow, there is a chance that the race will face a further delay to Sunday.
With a slight reduction in numbers from the original race date, over 60 competitors, across 16 crews, are still expected to take to the start line.
The race ended up being cancelled last year because the weather on both potential weekends was too bad.
