Maya Le Tissier was on the bench watching a nervy England display which was enough to secure second in their group and a place for Euro 2025 in Switzerland.

She had won her fourth cap in the previous fixture, a 2-1 win  over the  Republic of Ireland on Friday.

England manager Wiegman wants to see improvements in England’s attack.

“It’s good we now have a year. I think in the first half we played very good football. The only thing we didn’t do was score a goal.

“We had it against France too. That’s also to do with the quality of the opponent but it’s good we have a year to prepare and work on those things.”

Sarina Wiegman hopes to “try out different things” in friendly matches during their next international break, and says they must tighten up defensively.

England finished a point behind France.
