Nominations are open for the top athletes, coaches and teams to be put up for the Guernsey Sports Commission’s 2025 Sporting Achievement Awards.

It will be the 21st edition of the annual ceremony which highlights the best in sport and physical activity across 12 different categories.

The criteria for each award is online, with a simple nomination form available for anyone to propose individuals and groups who deserve recognition.

The deadline for nominations is Monday 8 December.

Graham Chester, the Commission’s Operations Director who chairs the judging panel, said there are many performers in line for awards this year.

“There’s been lots of sporting action both domestically and on the national and international stage over the last year so there should be plenty of performances and achievements to celebrate,” he said.

“From those competing on the World stage to some of our young sports stars just starting out on their sporting careers, these awards celebrate the very best of local talent.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for all sports to put forward their top teams, coaches or individuals for one of the awards and I would encourage all local sporting organisations to get nominating.

“We want the evening to be a real celebration of the breadth and depth of sport here in Guernsey and share some of the stories around the top performances of the last 12 months.”

The awards evening takes place on 8 January in the David Ferguson Hall at Beau Sejour from 18:30.

The Sports Commission says speakers and presenters will be announced closer to the event.
