Jack Rees and Nix Petit have claimed the FNB Cross Country league crowns.
Both finished the four race series in style by winning the final event through the fields and surrounding woodland at Home Farm on Saturday afternoon.
While Rees went into the final race knowing he had enough points in the bag to take the men’s title, Petit still needed to perform on the day to secure the women’s series.
She did just that and produced a dominant run (28:40) to lead home the women’s field by nearly two minutes, with U17 Eleanor Jamieson following after a tight battle with Abbie Swain – just seven seconds separated them on the day.
Rees clocked 37:30 over the six mile Division 1 race which saw some sizeable gaps through the field. Ethan Woodhead was second (38:36) and Matthre Jamieson third (39:24).
That was also the order in which they finished the overall series.
The FNB races see the field split into eight divisions which ensures friendly competition throughout.
