They were due to play Colchester, who had already travelled to the island on Friday, but as the winds picked up during the worst of Storm Darragh a decision was made to postpone the match.

Agreement could also not be found about playing the game on Sunday instead.

It is the second game Raiders have had postponed this season, the first when they could not travel to play Dorking, again because of wind. That has been rescheduled for what would have been a rest weekend on 1 February.

That means their fixtures are piling up in the New Year, creating a headache after a strong start to the season.

As Raiders waited things out, their main league rivals all made progress.

Leaders Tonbridge Juddians won 17-0 against Henley, although they failed to pick up a try bonus point.

In second, Dorking secured a narrow win away at Havant (28-25).

Barnes are now five points clear of Raiders in third after beating Bury St Edmunds 31-5.

While Canterbury closed the gap to sit one point behind Guernsey after a 31-10 win against Oxford Harlequins.

Raiders travel to Sevenoaks on Saturday, before another away trip to Westcombe Park seven days later.

The league takes a break over Christmas before resuming on Saturday 11 January when Guernsey has a home game against Havant.
