Goalkeeper Josh Addison had to walk around the back of the goal to get the ball after it bounced off a fence, but the referee said it had gone through a small hole in the side of the net.
TV footage was not conclusive, but pictures from a fan behind the goal has only added to the debate.
The X account Molesey Sports Fan posted: “bit surprised no one is talking about how the last goal simply wasn’t a goal! Ball didnt go in net. Ref said it went through this gap in net – for which the angles don’t make sense. Would have to hit it perpendicular. It was parallel to tjis bit of netting. I was behind the goal” adding “Also, the gap in the netting simply wasn’t big enough. I’ve never seen anything like this before.”

Sam Murray put GFC in a commanding position just after the break after Owen Wallbridge and Ross Allen had cancelled out Archie Lowery’s opener.
But a penalty from Mason Galloway and the controversial last-ditch effort from Kirlew-Wright meant Guernsey’s wait for a second win of the season will stretch into November.
