This week’s Warm Up is packed with high-stakes action as several of Jersey’s top sides head off-island chasing silverware, pride and big performances.

Our Podcast can now be found under ‘The Sports Podcast’ on our own Channel as opposed to previously on ‘Bailiwick Podcasts’.

Leading the way are Jersey Hockey, who travel to London on Sunday for the biggest match in their history.

They face Sheffield University Bankers at Lee Valley in the England Tier 2 League Championship Final after a dramatic semi-final victory over Tunbridge Wells. Robbie Forrest joins the pod to look ahead to a landmark occasion for island hockey.

There is international cricket on the agenda too, with Jersey taking on Denmark away from home as part of their World Cup qualifying preparations. Ranking points are on the line, and skipper Charles Perchard gives his thoughts before the trip.

In football, attention turns across the water as newly-crowned Premiership 1 champions Jersey Wanderers head to Guernsey to face Northerners in the Upton Park Trophy tomorrow afternoon. It is Jersey champions versus Guernsey champions, with local bragging rights and historic silverware up for grabs.

We also reflect on a heartbreaking night for the Jersey Bulls, whose promotion push ended in a penalty shootout defeat to AFC Whyteleafe in front of a packed Springfield crowd. Elliot Powell gives his reaction after a superb campaign.

Elsewhere, St Clement look to continue their perfect run since January, Jersey Wanderers Women close their league season against Rozel Rovers, and junior footballers continue to shine with St Paul’s Under-18s lifting the Treager Memorial Trophy.

Add in Junior Siam Cup rugby, inter-insular darts and Jersey Bulls Under-13s heading to Italy, and it is another huge sporting weekend.
