Fresh from a dramatic week that saw Jersey Wanderers crowned Upton Park Trophy champions and St Paul’s Under-16s follow suit across the water, another packed weekend of local sport lies ahead in the latest episode of The Warm Up with Archie Corbett and Elliot Corbel.

Football once again headlines proceedings with cup semi-finals, finals and inter-island clashes taking centre stage.

Jersey Wanderers continue their pursuit of more silverware when they meet St Clement in the JFA Cup semi-final at JW Park on Saturday afternoon, while St Paul’s conclude their Premiership 1 campaign against Grouville before their Under-18 side look to complete a remarkable hat-trick of Upton victories for Jersey football on Sunday against Vale Rec at Springfield.

There is also plenty happening beneath the top flight, with Jersey Wanderers Reserves booking their place in a final after a 2-1 win over St Ouen’s Reserves, while St Peter edged Grouville in a dramatic penalty shootout following a thrilling 3-3 draw in the JFA Cup.

Women’s football also takes centre stage with Rozel Rovers meeting ‘The Best of the Rest’ in the Zany Labbe Memorial Trophy, while Jersey Wanderers Women face Sports Club of Jersey Women in the Sylvia Spinola Memorial Cup.

The pair also discuss the provisional Muratti squads ahead of an exciting few weeks of home Muratti’s.

Away from football, the cricket season continues to gather momentum with another full programme across the Premier League and lower divisions after last weekend’s explosive opening round. Top division cricket returns as Patrick Gouge looks to continue his emphatic early season form following his 207 in the season opener.

Hockey attention turns to Guernsey, where RWB Nomads face Guernsey Cubs at Footes Lane in the Ladies Upton. Several Jersey players are expected to feature, including Izzy Heelis, Chrissie Helmholt-Kniesel and Holly Stearn, against a Cubs side who won 10 of their 12 matches this season.

Elsewhere, Les Landes hosts the second horse racing meet of the year as Liberation Weekend racing returns with the Jersey Guineas among the feature attractions, while the ARC-sponsored Racketball Festival brings around 180 competitors to St Clement’s Sports Centre for one of the Island’s biggest participation events of the year.

The latest episode of The Warm Up previews it all, with Fixture Forecast also switching from football to cricket after Elliot wrapped up the football title in convincing fashion.
