Junior Vice President of Jersey Bowls, Ross Davis, came home from the biannual competition with two silver medals to add to his large haul.
He spoke to Express about the week in Ayr and what’s next for the club on the green.
Facing England’s Jow Dawson in a closely-contested men’s singles final, Davis wasn’t able to clinch gold, finishing 21-15 to Dawson, but was “delighted” with his performance novertheless.

Also reaching the gold-medal match in the men’s pairs, the former Commonwealth Games athlete secured another silver with his partner Kevin Le Long.
“It was a bit disappointing to get to two finals and come out with two silvers but overall I’m delighted with my performance,” Davis said.
Commenting on losing to Dawson in the final, Davis added: “I knew what his game was like, he plays an aggressive game so I was pleased to play as I did against him.”
Sharing his experience of the international contest as a whole he added: “The Home Nations were all there and were the clear favourites, as well as some up and coming coutnries so it was a nice mix.”

But Jersey men’s weren’t the only medal winners from the week, with Jersey women’s Chloe and Lindsey Greechan also achieving Bronze in the women’s pairs and Lindsey Greechan coming away with another silver in the women’s singles.

After the recent success for Bowls Jersey, which continues to produce a high calibre of male and female talent, Davis said he hopes to continue his medal haul with the upcoming annual inter-insular against Guernsey to finish the season.
