The Cherry Godfrey Cup will see Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Wight and Isle of Man face off against each other to see who will be crowned the top footballing island.
Due to be held every two years, the first instalment of the new tournament is set to take place tomorrow and Saturday.
The first match – between Isle of Man and Isle of Wight – will be tomorrow at 17:00, before Jersey takes on its Muratti rivals Guernsey at 20:00.
Several footballers “making their debut”
Kate Ednay, Isle of Wight’s Assistant Manager, said the Isle of Wight team were “very much looking forward to the tournament and the opportunity given to us to head over to Jersey to play against the other islands”.
“We have several members of the squad that will be making their debut for the island, and it’s the perfect opportunity for them to experience some tournament football. It also provides us a management team the chance to try some things out and to see areas that we need to work on before the Island Games in Orkney next year,” she added.
“Can’t wait!”
Captain Rowan Treagus added: “I’m really looking forward to the tournament, it’s a great opportunity to get the girls together and prepare for the Island Games in 2025.
“It will be brilliant to get a run out and to get some debutants on the pitch too.
“It should be a really competitive occasion – can’t wait!”
