Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man, and the Isle of Wight will compete to win the Cherry Godfrey cup this weekend.

The biennial women’s football competition brings together representative teams from each of the islands for two days of football, island rivalry and community spirit.

Following the success of the inaugural tournament in Jersey in 2024, all eyes now turn to Guernsey as the four islands compete at Victoria Park today and tomorrow.

The action gets underway this evening with two semi-finals before the tournament concludes tomorrow with the third-place play-off and the Cherry Godfrey Cup Final.

With home advantage behind them, Guernsey’s women will be hoping to lift the trophy in front of a local crowd with the organisers encouraging fans to come along and support the Green Lionesses throughout the weekend.

The tournament celebrates the continued growth of women’s football across the islands and will showcase some of the best female footballing talent from Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man and the Isle of Wight.

Supporters can expect a fantastic atmosphere, competitive football and a memorable weekend of sport and family fun throughout the day as the four island teams battle for the Cherry Godfrey Cup.
