THE Rock Accounting Open continues, in its third year, to grow in stature and popularity among Jersey’s golf community.
Taking place at Royal Jersey Golf Club on 10 July this year, the tournament has cemented its place on the Jersey Golf Order of Merit.
Since its inception, the event has been sponsored by Rock Accounting, a company rooted in the local business and sporting scene.
The event offers valuable points that have attracted an increasing number of the Island’s top golfers. The support from Jersey Golf has been instrumental in integrating the event into the local competitive calendar, helping to raise its profile each year.
Royal Jersey Golf Club has played a vital role in the tournament’s success, hosting the demanding 36-hole event for the past three years.
Their continued partnership has provided a fitting stage in which the Island’s finest talent can compete.
For the first time, the event will feature a full spectrum of competitors, with categories including Men’s, Ladies, Juniors, Seniors, and club professionals, making it a truly inclusive celebration of golf in the Island.
Behind the smooth running and steady growth of the Open is Alex Mollin, a seasoned organiser with over a decade of experience. Mollin, who began her career orchestrating the PGA Channel Islands Challenge Pro-Am, has once again assembled a strong and competitive field.
Her efforts have been pivotal in driving the event toward what looks set to be its biggest turnout yet.
Rock Accounting’s involvement in the Open creates an ideal partnership, with founder Duncan Ellis’ own golf background as a PGA professional since 2009, including seven and a half years working in South Africa.
