Local innovators will now have access to year-round funding opportunities through the latest programme under the government-backed Impact Jersey scheme.

Facilitated through delivery partner Digital Jersey, the Innovation Programme has been developed to support local entrepreneurs and businesses by being available year-round without specific deadlines, and offering three tiers of funding, according to the scale of the project.

The organisation hopes the programme will help “turn technology-driven ideas into solutions that can benefit Jersey’s economy, environment and community”, and “accelerate innovation” by funding pilot projects, proofs of concept and scalable solutions that align with Jersey’s strategic priorities.

These include improving productivity, housing needs, health and wellbeing, responding to the climate emergency and ensuring islanders have the right skills to thrive in an increasingly competitive global economy.

In addition to funding, the new programme will offer personalised advice, clinics and partner introductions.

Digital Jersey CEO Tony Moretta said: “This new programme is about helping to turn good ideas – large and small – into real outcomes that can benefit Jersey’s people, economy and environment.

“We’ve listened hard to what innovators need in terms of support as well as funding and adapted the programme accordingly – enabling them to apply for funding and guidance when they’re ready, not just when a window happens to be open.”

Mr Moretta explained that this is backed up by a “robust oversight and assessment framework”.

“We’re really excited to start receiving applications under this new programme and backing the brightest tech solutions to deliver impact for Jersey,” he said.
