They also carried out a major spring clean in the main storeroom, gardened around the shelter grounds and helped improve several areas of the site.

Training and Community Officer Tim Pellett said: “What a brilliant bunch today from Artex. As well as bringing brushes, rollers, paints and wood stain, they even went back out and bought some perennials for the feature outside reception.

“Their enthusiasm and willingness to help was fantastic, and they made a huge difference to the shelter in just one day.”

GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne added: “A huge thank you to everyone from Artex for giving up their time to help the GSPCA.

“They tackled every task with smiles on their faces, worked incredibly hard and made a real impact across the shelter.

“This is not the first time Artex has stepped forward to help local charities.

“Last year they were amazing supporters of the Dolphin Discovery Trail, helping us create a hugely successful community event that raised significant funds for good causes.

“To see them back again supporting the GSPCA with such enthusiasm has been wonderful, and we cannot thank them enough.”

Corporate and group volunteer days continue to play an important role in helping the GSPCA care for thousands of animals each year, a spokesperson said.

Whether helping with animal care, maintenance projects, gardening or fundraising events, volunteer groups provide valuable support while enjoying a rewarding team-building experience.
