The GSPCA is delighted to thank a team of seven volunteers from BNP Paribas who generously gave up their time to support the charity with a busy and productive volunteer day at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
On what proved to be a very sunny and rewarding day, the team got involved in a wide range of tasks, from cleaning and general maintenance to helping lay a brand-new pathway around the shelter. Their enthusiasm and teamwork made a real difference to the site and to the animals cared for by the GSPCA.
The new pathway project, which the BNP Paribas team helped advance, has been made possible thanks to a kind grant from the Co-op. This funding has also enabled the installation of additional solar lighting, improving safety for staff when walking dogs and accessing aviaries and animal enclosures—particularly during wet weather when surfaces can become slippery.
Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the seven team members from BNP Paribas who spent the day with us on 30th April.
“They were a fantastic help, especially in such warm weather, and really got stuck into every task we threw at them—from cleaning through to helping with our new pathway. It’s amazing what can be achieved in just one day with such a positive and committed group.
“We would also like to sincerely thank the Co-op for their kind grant, which has helped fund the pathway and solar lighting, making a big difference to safety across the shelter.
“We always love to hear from businesses looking to support us through corporate social responsibility, as days like this have a real and lasting impact on animal welfare.”
