Alderney will boost support it gives to new businesses by 10 times, after a previous scheme brought “limited” results.

The island previously offered £2,000 to startups to help with “initial set-up and capital costs”, but this will now be increased to up to £20,000 in match funding.

A spokesperson said the revised scheme was “designed to provide a stronger incentive for businesses to invest in Alderney, while ensuring that public funding delivers measurable economic benefit”.

The scheme will be open to startups, existing businesses and firms considering relocating to Alderney.

Details on how to apply can be found on the States of Alderney website.
