Guernsey’s bus company, Stagecoach, has appointed a new Depot and Contracts Manager in the island.

Ashley Robbins brings nearly 20 years industry experience, starting as a mechanic and electrician, before moving into operations.

He was previously Staff Manager at Weston-super-Mare and Bristol, before his most recent role as Site Operations Manager at Hinkley Point.

Mr Robbins said he “can’t wait to get over to Guernsey” and was looking forward to helping continue the island’s “strong, safe and reliable operation”.

Peter Knight, Managing Director of Stagecoach South West, said Mr Robbins had a “rare combination of engineering expertise, operational leadership and track record of delivering excellence” which made him “ideally placed” to lead the Guernsey team.
