Six people have been appointed to act as the Authority, with voting powers, with effect from 25 May 2018.

The Committee for Home Affairs was successful in nominating three people who will serve for a period of five years: 

  • Mr Richard Thomas CBE as Chairman of the Data Protection Authority 
  • Mr Simon Entwisle as a voting member of the Data Protection Authority 
  • Mr John Curran as a voting member of the Data Protection Authority 

The States also appointed three members for a period of four years:

  • Mr Christopher Docksey as a voting member of the Data Protection Authority 
  • Mr Mark Lempriere as a voting member of the Data Protection Authority 
  • Ms Jennifer Strachan as a voting member of the Data Protection Authority 

The Authority appointments were approved during yesterday’s States meeting.
