In Guernsey, Martin Popplewell has been promoted to partner, while in Jersey, Andrew Pitcher has risen to director.

Deloitte has announced two senior promotions in its Channel Islands tax team, saying it recognises the dedication and impact of both individuals. 

In Guernsey, Martin Popplewell has been promoted to Partner, while in Jersey, Andrew Pitcher has risen to Director.

Mr Popplewell relocated from Deloitte in Leeds to Guernsey in 2010, joining as a Tax Manager. Subsequently, he progressed to Associate Director and Director before becoming Partner in this round of promotions.

He has more than 21 years of experience and has developed specialist knowledge in FATCA and Common Reporting Standard and, Economic Substance with a focus on compliance and tax reporting. He works extensively with corporate service providers and client structures across both Guernsey and Jersey.

He also contributes widely to the Channel Islands practice, participating in local government working groups, sitting on the GSCCA tax sub-committee, and leading on some of Deloitte’s local sponsorship initiatives.

Jo Huxtable, Tax Partner at Deloitte in the Channel Islands, congratulated Mr Popplewell and Mr Pitcher, who first joined the Jersey tax team as a graduate in 2014 before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2017.

Across the Channel Islands, 11 people have reached new career milestones at Manager and Senior Manager level, while in the United Kingdom, there were a total of 60 new partner promotions.
