Volunteers with senior-level industry experience are needed to provide independent oversight and constructive challenge to Guernsey’s Major Projects Portfolio.

The Policy & Resources Committee are on the lookout for anyone interested in providing that oversight and challenge across major construction, digital, and public infrastructure projects.

To help the projects flourish, P&R says they’re looking for someone with senior-level experience, as an Executive or Non-Executive, as long as there’s knowledge of governance, assurance, organisational change, and large-scale project management, across any sector.

The successful volunteer would be expected to spend up to two days per month on the project, for an initial one-year term.

Guernsey’s Chief Executive Boley Smillie said it is “an important role with an opportunity to contribute valuably to the community”.

“We were pleased with the initial level of interest in this role, but following recent decisions and announcements there may be renewed interest in this role,” he said.

“We’d again welcome expressions of interest in this role, particularly from those with senior level experience to support the oversight of this portfolio.”

To apply for the volunteer role, you can send a CV and short statement to policyandresources@gov.gg by Friday 12 June, and you can find out more on the States’ website
