The Medical Specialist Group has appointed a Guernsey-born Consultant Physician who is dual-accredited in respiratory and general internal medicine.
Dr Jennifer Naftel graduated from the University of Southampton in 2014 with honours, and her specialist training in the Wessex deanery included a critical care fellowship and a Biomedical Research Centre fellowship.
The MSG has specifically noted her contribution to research regarding asthma biologics in pregnancy, which led to an international consensus and was published in The Lancet Respiratory Medicine.
Dr Nick Crabtree, the Deputy Chair of the MSG, highlighted the investment that Dr Naftel’s appointment brings.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome Dr Naftel back to her home island to share her expert knowledge and deliver high quality care to our community.
“We continue to invest in specialist expertise to meet the evolving needs of islanders, and they will be in very safe hands with Dr Naftel.”
Dr Jennifer Naftel described returning to Guernsey as a privilege.
