More than 2,000 homes are already connected with around 700 properties a month being prepped for connection to the network.
Mike Fawkner-Corbett, Head of Consumer at Sure, is pleased with how the island-wide roll out is going with the engineering team on target to reach every property by the end of 2026.
“This is a fantastic milestone to reach in Guernsey’s fibre upgrade journey,” he said. “We’re excited to be sharing this technology with our customers, who are benefiting from the enhanced speeds, the ability to have multiple devices on a network, and no loss of speeds no matter where in the island they are.”
Sure runs its Fibre Friday drop-in events every week so customers can ask any questions about the island-wide roll out.
Torteval and St Peters will be the next parishes connected with the latest fibre-ready areas including: Chemin Le Roi, Les Buttes, Route de Pleinmont, Route Des Sages, Rue Collas Simon, Rue de la Couture, Rue De L’Aitte, Rue de Quanteraine, Rue des Brouards, Rue des Cambrees, Rue du Belle, Rue du Court Laurent, Ruette de L’Aitte, Hauteville, Charroterie Mills, Vazon, King’s Mills, Cobo, Collings Road to La Vrangue, La Ramee to Capelles, L’Islet to L’Ancresse, and Baubigny to Nocq Road.
