Two Guernsey deputies recently represented the island at the 2026 Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit at London’s Mansion House.

The summit brought together leaders from across the 56 Commonwealth nations to discuss shared economic priorities, including AI, sustainable energy, infrastructure, health technologies, creative industries, and global financial trends.

Guernsey’s participation was intended to support the island’s strategy to remain “a trusted, globally connected, and outward looking jurisdiction”.

Deputy Sasha Kazantseva Miller, President of the Committee for Economic Development, and Deputy Rhona Humphreys, Member for International Trade, attended to represent the island.

Their trip followed the Chair of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council’s visit to Guernsey on 24 March, where discussions focused on strengthening the island’s engagement with Commonwealth partners.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Deputy Humphreys (pictured top) said: “This summit has demonstrated the importance of strong, forward-looking partnerships for Guernsey’s continued success.

“Our place within the British family and the wider Commonwealth gives us a powerful platform to advance Guernsey’s international trade interests. By working closely with our partners, we can help shape open, fair, and future focused trade that supports long term prosperity for our community.”
